It is not desirable to go into selling automobiles when you do not know anything about the compelling situation there. Without proper training the automobile dealership may hesitate to put you on the sales floor right away for fear of a loss of potential car buyers! Don't blame the dealership that invests a handsome amount of money only to bring a customer onto the dealership floor.
This waiting period is horrible, frustrating and discouraging. More than half of the newly-recruited salespeople quite the job within a week as a result of uncertainty, difficulty in handling a customer and failure to adjust with the dealership management.
So, be prepared before you pursue a new career or career move. Don't allow the dealership to 'let you go' and don't allow yourself to miss a fortune.
